Three first editions of novels written by the rakish British author Simon Raven The Feathers of Death The Judas Boy and The Survivors. Published by Anthony Blond later Blond and Briggs between 1959-1976.In the publisher's original cloth in the original dust wrappers. Wrappers of Feathers and Judas are unclipped while The Survivors is clipped.Despite combining elements of Evelyn Waugh and Harry Paget Flashman in his writing Simon Raven was a highly original author known for his lucid writing and cynical mind. Often portrayed as a hedonist and rake Raven's works often disparaged the post-war morals and his characters often willingly chose harmful decisions over positive ones. This is readily seen in these three novels. - The Feathers of Death early army novel looking a homosexuality. Anthony Blond 1959.- The Judas Boy the fifth novel set in Cyprus in his Aims for Oblivion series. Blond and Briggs 1968.- The Judas Boy the final novel set in Venice in his Aims for Oblivion series. Blond and Briggs 1976. In the publisher's original cloth in the original dust wrappers. Externally in excellent condition with minimal marks and edgewear. Dust wrappers are bright and clean with minor fading to wrapper spine and faint signs of browning to rear wrapper of Feathers. End papers are bright and clean. Internally firmly bound.
