This is the second poetry collection issued by the Union. Poets representing various isms are found here with Mandel'shtam Sestry Tsvetaeva Kon'-Khrom Pasternak Mne v sumerki ty vse. This book is hard-bound in a custom fine binding of full black leather with a gilt stamped heraldic/armorial insignia to the upper cover a gilt stamped anchor insignia on the lower cover gilt tooling to the cover edges and spine. There are silk doublures inside the covers. The covers show scuffing and soiling edge-wear and rubbing to the joints corners and spine-ends. The hinges are cracked with the text-block loosening and with some of the pages loosening or loose laid-in. The contents are bright and generally clean with illustrations of Battleships Submarines Etc. some actual/real photographs and some color illustrations pasted-down but also with some toning. The text then follows: departure crossing the Equator celebrations Tahiti New Zealand particularly Dunedin Campbell Island Australia & 'home' with three Kiwi Brides. The rest of the volume contains photos of the crew with their roles often presented humorously. From Wikipedia: <em>'the ship received orders in August 1961 designating it an ocean station vessel with TF-43 Operation "Deepfreeze 62." Temporarily based at Dunedin New Zealand Vance served as a communication relay ship for aircraft bringing in vital supplies to the Antarctic stations from New Zealand.
