Small surface chip along top of front cover. Light staining on upper portion of last sixty leaves. All edges gilt. Greek text. The printed record of the Greek National Assembly of 1843 convened after the Third of September revolution of 1843 which produced the first Greek constitution. The minutes begin on Sept. 3 1843 and end on March 18 1844. The constitution formally established a constitutional monarchy. King Otto remained on the throne until he was deposed in 1862. One feature of the 1844 constitution progressive at the time was that it called for universal male suffrage. OCLC locates 3 copies in the United States Harvard Univ. of Cincinnati and Cal.
