1922 · 75134 — Pacific & Atlantic Photos inc 1922. Two original silver gelatin press photographs. Each measures 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. Each also bears a large copyright notice ink-stamped on the verso and a tipped-in slip advising newspapers of possible headline or story angles. One with a corner chip and a slight developing flaw on the upper corner not affecting any part of the image. The other with a small marginal chip. Very good copies of these unusual images.The Pacific and Atlantic Photos office gave no photographer credit. Both of the tipped-in slips open with the following statement - "These are the first and exclusive photos to reach the outside world and his hardy associates since they entered the frozen arctic wastes." One photograph shows the Eskimos who helped load the Maud Amundsen's ship. being taken aboard the ship 'C. S. Holmes." The other photographs shows Dr. H. V. Sverdrup famous Norwegian scientist on board the Maud lodged fast in the ice. They are both dated 10/18/22. Pacific & Atlantic Photos, inc unknown
