Willem Estius, born at Gorcum 1542, died at Douai 1613, based his work on the eye-witness account of his brother Rutger Estius and on his own investigations afterwards ; the author felt personally involved since his uncle and some of his friends (both priests of Gorcum & Hieronymus) were among the martyrs. // Continuation of the title: "Quibus pro coronide subiuncta est, eodem Authore appendix de martyrio Guilielmi Gaudani, item Minoritae quod contigit anno 1573.
