There is a brief history of the Sanatorium as well as a description of the premises and the amenities. There are also images from photographs throughout of areas like the dining room the living spaces and the sleeping place. The booklet is in Very Good- condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The booklet covers have bumping rubbing wear and several small chips. The text pages are generally clean though there is waterstaining to the top edge of the text pages. The bottom edges of several of the text pages have some wear that looks like the pages were cut a bit roughly. The booklet includes a list of cities holding observations daily programs that ran from June 26th through July 5th 1920 which include a centennial exposition. A collection of quatrains attributed to Omar Khayyam a Persian polymath known for contributions made to astronomy philosopher poetry and mathematics. There is a tradition of attributing poetry to Khayyam which became widely known to the English-reading world following this translation which was found to be very popular due to the interest in Orientalism of the fin de siecle. Translated by Edward Fitzgerald an English poet and writer. Edited by George Frederick Maine a Scottish author and editor. Followed by Euphranor: A Dialogue on Youth and Salaman and Absal: An Allegory translated from the Persian of Jami. In the original paper covered boards. Externally excellent. Internally firmly bound. The covers are a bit stained and the edges and corners are quite worn. The pages are clean and they don't have any rips or markings. One page has a slight ink mark. The binding is still tight and undamaged. I would rate the book as fair but it's certainly OK for a reading copy. To make the book look much nicer it's covered by a laser copy of the original very good dust jacket It's full of the wonderful atmosphere of inland Maine. When Neale & Margie Lawson heard that their Father would have to sell His shore Land & their Beloved Horse Firefly they were Miserable.
