Volume 2 is damp stained on boards with some staining to top of first 20 pages. previous owner's bookplate inside front covers. Pages are brittle and age toned as expected with age but are otherwise clear and clean. Both volumes bound in blue buckram with gilt spine lettering. Volume 1 has a bw illustrated frontispiece small bw illustration on title page with black and red lettering xv 357 pp; profusely illustrated throughout in full page plates and smaller bw illustrations. Volume 2 has a double page color illustrated frontispiece title page has small bw illustration and red and black lettering; 326 pp bw plates and illustrations throughout. A two volume set in French.
