The first edition of Scottish writer Josiah Walker's 1761-1831 translation of the fables of Louis Jules Mancini duc de Nivernais 1716-1798. Primarily remembered as a biographer of Robert Burns Walker served as professor of Humanity at Glasgow University from 1815 until his death in 1831.
