Les rapporteurs sont Rémi Rose Niverd, professeur de musique, Louis Constant Pringault, maître musicien et Julien Louis Lechat, musicien amateur et signataire du rapport.Leur inspection concerne en particulier des travaux qui avaient été exécutés alors qu’ils ne figuraient pas au devis, en particulier l’ajout d’un jeu de viole de gambe et un jeu de trompette. Les experts prennent le parti des facteurs en insistant sur la puissance et la beauté de ces jeux et la perte qui résulterait de leur suppression.
