Hess a US Air Force fighter pilot turned Ohio minister who returned to the Air Force during the Korean War. As depicted in the film the 1950 Chinese Communist takeover of Seoul led Hess to facilitate an airlift of hundreds of children from the orphanage to the sanctuary island of Cheju. After undergoing physical reconstruction surgery and months of training and psychotherapy Hamilton returns to the world in the form of artist Tony Wilson. He has a nice house in Malibu and a manservant a company employee who is there to assist him with his adjustment.
