1970282662National Eduactional Television 1970. Trade Paperback. 10 B/W publicity photographs 8 x 10 inches of cast members with captions below. Typed press releases 8.5 x 11 inch sheets recto only. The publisher planned a 5-program series of conversations and performance called 'Music on Television.' This was the first of the programs and was based on the Saroyan play. Saroyan joined Jack Beeson and conductor Peter Herman Adler in a discussion which also included sneak previews of the scenes. It was followed by the premier of the opera on March 17 1970. The details are filled out in the press releases. Opera starred Gerald Harrington Alan Crofoot Kenneth Smith and Lili Chookasain. A near fine collection. Photographs are fine. Accompanied by a copy of letter from James Taylor Dunn a Saroyan fan and collector Librarian Minnesota Historical Society requesting 'any material - photos publicity relaeses etc.- which you can send me.' Very good. - 6 bars of "String Quartet in D" penned on a 12-1/2 inch high by 9-1/4 inch wide sheet of ruled music paper inscribed and signed below the music: "For . / With the best wishes of the composer / Richard Bales / 7/26/71". The top corners of the music paper are lightly creased. The sheet has been folded twice for mailing & there is slight creasing to & 2 tiny chips out of the margins at the folds. 1902100898<p>Boston Massachusetts May 1 1902. 1902. Fine. - Three lines of music penned on a 5-7/8 inch high by 7-7/8 inch wide watermarked paper. Identified in an unknown and as "Birds of a Feather" at bottom left of the page with the words and date "Modella 1882" penned by Bimboni at top right. The composer has signed and dated the quotation under the last line of music "Oreste Bimboni / Boston Hall / 1 May 1902". Near fine.</p><p>A RARE autograph.</p><p>The conductor and opera composer Oreste Bimboni 1846-1905 was with his nephew Alberto part of a long legacy of Florentine musicians. Both spent an extensive time abroad especially in the United States. As an opera conductor in Florence Oreste worked with some of the most significant singers of his time such as Adelina Patti and Emma Calve. He is first recorded as arriving in the United States in 1896. He moved to California in 1898 where he conducted opera. He moved back to the United States in 1902 after spending some time in Florence and taught at the New England Conservatory for three years before moving back to Europe.</p> Boston, Massachusetts, May 1, 1902.

Signer "Jose" above his typed surname and with a bar of music penned above the signature. Fine <p>The message dated "Dec. 31 1975" at top right reads: "Dear Jean: / Bon Apetit / and Happy New Year".<p>Jose Serebrier b. 1938 is an Uruguayan conductor and composer. He first conducted at the age of eleven with his school orchestra which toured the country. He graduated from the Municipal School of Music in Montevideo and subsequently won the National Orchestra's composition contest with his "Legend of Faust". He studied conducting with Eleazar de Carvalho and Aaron Copland at Tanglewood and with Pierre Monteux. His first symphony written at age 17 was conducted by Leopold Stokowski. Thereafter he held many conducting posts and toured widely with a number of orchestras. He was one of the most frequently recorded conductors of his generation.<p>Jean Dalrymple 1902-1998 was the dynamic producer and director of theater and light-opera at Manhattan's City Center. Dalrymple began her career in Vaudeville appearing with James Cagney and Cary Grant in the early 1930s. She was a founding member of the American Theatre Wing the theatre service organization. She worked over the years as a personal manager for the likes of Leopold Stokowski Mary Martin Jose Iturbi Andre Kostalanetz Nathan Milstein and Lily Pons. She began her work at City Center with its founding in 1943 serving as a board member producer and publicist. Her productions there from the 1940s through the 1960s were a revitalizing influence on the whole New York theatre scene. In 1951 Jean Dalrymple married Major-General Philip deWitt Ginder commander of the Thunderbirds in Korea. She was a friend to Presidents and entertainment personalities throughout the world.
