The majority of his own works were appropriations of his brother's. Finely bound in three-quarter red morocco over light red marbled paper-covered boards five raised bands to spine lettered and stamped in gilt top edge gilt light red marbled endpapers. A very good set light toning and spotting to spines and some rubbing to extremities. Overall a beautiful set. Beethoven a German composer is recognized as one of the major driving forces of Romanticism in music and completed much of his work during the time of transition between the Classical and Romantic eras. After finding success as a composer and conductor Beethoven lost most of his hearing at only 44 years old but continued to compose. Today his works are some of the most widely performed amongst classical musicians. This set in particular contains his complete repertoire of sonatas for solo piano of which there are 32 including the famous Sonata Pathetique. Hard Cover. Very Good. New York: G.
