1970052817Istanbul: Üç Hürel Moda Cd. 245 Kadiköy - Istanbul - Tel. 375100. ca. 1970s 1970. No Binding. Very Good. Original b/w advertisement of Turkish Rock Band Üç Hürel signed and inscribed by Feridun Hürel as 'Atilla'ya sevgiler'. Oblong: 11x165 cm. In Turkish. Photograph on the advertisement shows three members and brothers of Üç Hürel. Üç Hürel was a Turkish rock band formed in 1970 by brothers Onur Haldun and Feridun Hürel. Considered as among Turkey's most popular Anatolian rock bands the band performed folk-driven pop and rock music and occasionally also paraphrased classic folk songs with considerable ingenuity. Their lyrics generally featured themes such as peace and freedom. Hürel brothers were born in Trabzon and later moved to Istanbul due to family business. In 1966 the brothers formed their first band Yankilar which was later renamed to Istanbul Dörtlüsü. The band performed in small music halls and tried to synthesize Turkish music and traditional rock formats. After forming a number of other bands including Trio Istanbul Oguzlar and Biraderler Feridun became a member of the Selcuk Alagöz Orchestra. Haldun and Onur later joined him to gain experience and earn money for new equipment. In 1970 they left the orchestra to form 3 Hur-El. Following the release of their debut single in 1970 "Ve Ölum/Seytan Bunun Neresinde" the band released two LPs and more than ten singles in six years. In 1977 Haldun and Feridun left the band for mandatory military service. Coping with the loss of their mother to a traffic accident the brothers quit music. Feridun moved to England but returned without any significant accomplishments subsequently returning and specializing in advertising. Onur took a job as an instructor and Haldun started a ceramics and textiles business. 3 Hür-El reunited in 1996 releasing two records in 1996 and 1999 respectively. The band's 1970 song "Ve Ölüm" was featured in the 2013 Serge Bozon film Tip Top. Source: Wikipedia.

Üç Hürel, Moda Cd. 245 Kadiköy - Istanbul - Tel. 375100., [ca. 1970s] unknown
1958List3404New York City 1958. Folded flyer measuring 7 ¾ x 5 â… inches bifolium. Fine condition. A membership flyer printed in April of 1958 published as part of a fundraising drive around the Little Rock Nine. The NAACP was actively fundraising in 1958 to raise money for legal costs in the face of state-led actions in the south attempting to ban the organization. The risk of membership lists from the south being published made the growth of membership in the northern and western US of paramount importance for the organization. The final leaf offers the reader to “stand with the Little Rock Nine and enclose $. for membership.†We find no examples of this flyer in auction records or on the market at the time of writing January 2026. unknown
197143806Hull: Hull University 1971. First Edition. Very good. Original poster for an Afro Rock event at Hull University featuring one of the most important bands of the movement Assagai. Afro Rock which had its strongest incarnation in the UK in the late sixties and early seventies combined Western rock instrumentation with African and Afro-Cuban rhythms and percussion. Assagai featured emegrees from both South Africa and Nigeria as well a Ghana; the lineup included drummer Louis Moholo trumpeter/flautist Mongezi Feza alto saxophonist Dudu Pukwana tenor saxophonist Bizo Mngqikana guitarist/bassist Fred Coker their chief songwriter and Terri Quaye - the first professional female congaist in the UK. Assagai issued just two highly-reguarded albums both in 1971 on Vertigo Records one of the few if not the only all-black band signed to that legendary rock label and this poster dates from that peak. While they broke up shortly after this gig the members went on to long careers in various other jazz and prog groups. A striking poster from this significant but poorly documented group. Poster silk-screened in blue gold and red. Mild wear creasing. Some rubbing. Else bright and sound. Very good. Hull University unknown
