O'Reilly 1844-1890 was an early member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and was sentenced to penal servitude in Australia; he escaped and became a prominent voice in the Irish nationalist diaspora. This is a Very Good Plus copy of the First Edition a posthumous biography issued in the year following Boyle's death. Large octavo in a maroon pebbled cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 790 pages indexed. Bumped corners and a bit of rub to the foot of the spine. The covers are bright and this would be quite a nice copy if the gutters had not split causing the cloth on the spine to be barely hanging on.
