Publication No. 1244 copy No. 5536 stamped "Для служебного пользования" For Official Use Only. Comprising a general survey navigational-geographical and hydrometeorological overviews and nine chapters of detailed coastal navigation covering the entire Black Sea littoral from the Kiliya mouth of the Danube through the Crimea Caucasian coast Turkish coast and Bulgarian and Romanian shores to the Bosphorus; with a reference section distance tables and alphabetical index; illustrated throughout with coastal profile engravings and navigational diagrams; tracking amendments applied through 1991 the final entries postdating the dissolution of the USSR. A later and substantially expanded edition than the 1968 issue this copy is of exceptional documentary interest as a working navigational instrument actively corrected and used through the final years of the Soviet Black Sea Fleet with the correction record providing a remarkable archival trace of operational naval use up to and beyond the collapse of the Soviet state. The booklet is in Very Good condition and was issued without a dust jacket. The covers have some light ground-in dirt and a staple indentation to the top front panel. The text pages are clean and bright. The signature and inscription along with a note detailing it's history is laid-in. This copy includes game statistics / score card filled out for a game against the Sacramento Solons not sure of which date played . "Along with the Los Angeles Angels Portland Beavers Oakland Oaks Sacramento Solons and Seattle Indians the Seals were charter members of the Pacific Coast League which was founded in 1903. The team played their home games at Recreation Park at Harrison and 8th Streets until it was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. The mild climate of the west coast allowed the PCL to play a much longer season than the major leagues and the other eastern professional baseball leagues. A sequel to the pamphlet "You Ain't Thuh Man Yuh Mamma Wuz" published in 1969 which made the central claim: "NOT ONE Black man is known to have sex-murdered a baby girl. THOUSANDS of white men have committed this crime!" Seals notes the bizarre coincidence that "shortly after the pamphlet was advertised by posters and was distributed on Chicago's South and West sides there began a series of murders of young Black girls in Chicago that appeared to directly contradict the assertion." Seals goes on to examine the history of "ritual murder" in the Black community noting its absence is informed by the fact that "in Africa such crime is so completely unknown that there is no adequate language with which to talk about it" and deducing "A number of policemen some of quite high rank probably have direct knowledge and complicity in these staged murders." An interesting artifact of the Black Power movement. Very good condition overall. unknown
