Sammlung Winterhilfswerke WHW 1933 - 1945 Blue cloth Collectors Box size 22.5 x 29.5 x 3.5 cms containing a representative selection of around 24 Abzeichensmall badges insignia gifts etc. produced during the Winterhilfswerke campaign. The Winter Relief campaign was an annual drive to help finance charitable work. Under the Nazis the WHW ran from 1933 - 1945 during the months of October through March and was designed to provide food clothing coal and other items to less fortunate Germans during the inclement months. All of the different Nazi associations produced their own particular Abzeichen to be exchanged for a pfennig or two. These highly collectable items were made of many different materials such as wood glass paper terra cotta metal and plastic.
