Fourth edition Illustrated with small woodcuts 12mo pp xvi 122 8 page publisher's catalogue. a little used internally with slight foxing original ribbed cloth decorated with gilt on the upper cover faded and a little worn the rear cover a bit bleached the spine a little frayed at head and tail the upper joint with a slight split near the top. With a signature on the endpaper of the architect John Prizeman. The title page has the early signatures of Lady A. Fosterwho has added three cultivar names at the rear and Sibella M Veitch Werger & Burton attribute authorship to A.H. The previous owner's name C. E. Salmon Xmas 1897 is inked to the front free pastedown along with a few ticks to the margin of the corrections page. C. E.Salmon was the author of the first edition of Flora of Surrey. There is also a letter included regarding the finding of Herminium Monorchis Musk Orchid by A. B. Jackson.
