One of 50 copies of this limited edition for private circulation of fragments from des Forêt's autobiographical work inscribed on the half-title "Pour Hanna Charney avec ma vrais amicale pensée Louis René des Forêts 17 Mars 1995" and with a 2-pp. autograph letter signed "Louis-René des Forêts" in French dated 17 Mars 1995 presenting this copy of Ostinato "publié l'an dernier dans une petite revue marseillaise." Des Forêts 1918-2001 was French poet novelist and painter. He was co-founder of the literary journal L'Éphémère with writers Yves Bonnefoy Paul Celan and others and in 1997 was awarded the Grand prix national des Lettres. Ostinato subtitled "fragments autobiographiques" was published in its complete form in 1997 following several limited-edition excepts.
