Fifty color snapshot photographs capturing an October 21 1999 performance of the industrial metal band at The Fenix nightclub in Seattle. The band emerged in the early 1990's Florida hardcore scene alongside acts like Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids and became known for its extreme sexual exhibitionism during performances which included nudity genital torture live simulated sex acts and BDSM. These photographs were captured from a prime vantage point apparently in front of the crowd and hold very little back. In a 2014 interview with the Phoenix Times founding member Gen commented on the band's evolution in the digital age: "We definitely brought that underground to the stage. This was before the Internet and before you could access all these different types of fashions and sexuality and fetishes. . people could come to our shows and be a part of like-minded people. In that regard it changed. When you have pretty crazy shows like we do there weren't cell phones where you could take pictures. It was more extreme in those days. It was a very different world. . That's something we've had to deal with and I think our show is becoming a little less sexually oriented and more theatrical oriented." A substantial uncensored archive of a single Genitorturers show in an era prior to ubiquitous cell phone video recording of club performances. hardcover books
