19283060Potsdam: Muller & Kiephenhauer Verlag 1928. Quarto 74 pages. Photographically illustrated. FIRST EDITION. The first book by architect Rudolf Schwarz. Schwarz worked in the periphery of the Bauhaus and was a significant figure in the field in the twenties and early thirties. He had a great influence on his friend Mies Van der Rohe. The photographic illustrations are by Renger-Patzsch and this remains the most elusive of the photographer's books. One plate shows some adhesion mark but far from the image; otherwise internally fine. In striking photographically illustrated paper-covered boards over black cloth spine. Some rubbing and light wear to boards still very good. Very scarce. OCLC locates twelve copies worldwide with only two in the US at MOMA and the National Gallery.
