Annie Liebowitz photos small reproductions of the First International Erotic Film Festival.<br /> <br /> According to the Online Archive of California Bancroft: "The Sexual Freedom League was founded in 1963 in New York City. Julian Beck Allen Ginsberg and Dr. Leo Koch were among those on the Advisory Committee of the original group which was active in demonstrations for a wide range of causes."<br /> <br /> The original SFL was formed in NYC by Jefferson Poland in 1963 as New York City League for Sexual Freedom. When Poland moved to the Bay Area from NYC in 1966 he founded the SFL in the East Bay which was a loose-knit group with few rules little organization and no fees. After he broke away several others stepped in to create their own versions of the league including Richard Thorne Margo Rila and her husband Frank Esposito Rila. By 1971 several SFL chapters had formed around the US including the one of which Don Jackson was a member. Jackson whose copy this is was a gay activist in California who contributed to The Alpine County Project aka Stonewall Nation. In a letter responding to internal strife over liberal and conservative leaders in the SFL Jackson a Libertarian offered himself as a liberal candidate for office. The San Francisco chapter was headed up by Margo St. James at this time. Sexual Freedom League SF unknown
