Tête dorée sur témoins, non rogné. Large dentelle intérieure. Gardes de soie bleue moirée. Pas de rousseur. Parfait état. Format in-4°(32x25).Henry de Waroquier (1881-1970) est un peintre, sculpteur, dessinateur, photographe, et graveur français.Il est d'abord professeur de composition décorative à l'École Estienne à Paris, et professeur de peinture à l'Académie scandinave.Waroquier peint surtout la Bretagne de 1900 à 1910, en se rapprochant du cloisonnisme des Nabis. Puis il fréquente Modigliani et l'École de Paris.Les voyages qu'il fait en Italie en 1912 et en 1920, puis en Espagne en 1921, l'amènent à peindre des paysages et des visages humains. Il participe au salon des Tuileries de 1938 sur le thème de l'Espagne. Il est d'abord influencé par le cubisme, mais des éclairages dramatiques ainsi qu'un travail sur des visages pathétiques donnent à son oeuvre un accent tragique.Également fresquiste, il exécute en 1937 une composition murale pour le palais de Chaillot, La Tragédie. Le musée d'art moderne de la ville de Paris présente une exposition de ses sculptures dans les années 1950.Henri de Waroquier est aussi poète et photographe. Il était ami de Georges Duhamel, de Paul Claudel, et de Gaston Bachelard. Il nous reste figer dans le temps par une estampe de Henri Vergé-Sarrat (Henry de Waroquier dans son atelier) dont un exemplaire est conservé au Musée du Domaine départemental de Sceaux.Yvonne (1884- ?) était la fille de Paul Mirabaud (1848-1908) banquier philatéliste français. Il est l'un des signataires du Roll of Distinguished Philatelists qui distingue «les pères de la philatélie».C'est l'histoire de l'enfance d'Yvonne Mirabaud et la vie de sa famille de 1884 à 1900 à l'aide des photographies de l'époque. C'est un des rares livres de Henry de Waroquier.
