The club now controls more than 800 acres and Lakota Lake has an area of some 15 acres. The club history was written by Otis L. Guernsey Jr.; Rhoda Teagle contirbuted an essay entitled "Silence Solace and Sustenance for the Angler"; the book also includes miscellaneous recollections and a list of members and officers. Short narrative account of one of FDR's vacations at sea a trip in the spring of 1938 from Charleston S.C. through the Turks and Caicos and northern waters of the Virgin Islands with calls at Sombrero Island "a small desolate rocky and barren island" and at San Juan Puerto RIco on the return. Catch included barracuda pompano and shark. Authorship of the presidential logs has always been something of a puzzle as Halter notes. The present Log was compiled in Washington by "Pa" evidently not one of the members of the party for the Epilogue contains a memo to "Pa" dated 4 June 1938 at the White House "You will please 'muse' ." and is signed in type "F.D.R." The authorship of this log can be assigned to Maj. Gen. Edwin L. Watson a military aide to FDR on the basis of the log for the December 1940 cruise of the Tuscaloosa where "Pa" was a member of the party and celebrated his 57th birthday. A nice little album with pleasing mid-century images of fishing. Some of the images are date-stamped August 1941 and all are contemporary to 1941 with one earlier image of the Pawtucket Railroad station dated in 1880 loosely inserted. unknown books

The Sport paradise of the continent."<br/><br/>The club had plans prepared by El Paso architects Trost & Trost for a clubhouse in Truth or Consequences formerly Hot Springs Sierra County New Mexico but the club seems to have had no existence beyond the captions of the romantic illustrations in this pamphlet. It was a scheme promoted by J. C. Harper sometime pool hall operator of Deming New Mexico who attempted to secure the consent of Governor Dillon of New Mexico through the offer of a position on the board. Harper was linked to a failed Kansas City bank.<br/><br/>Apparently unrecorded. unknown books
