320 pages including bibliography. An authoritative and readable illustrated record of now completed chapters in U.S. Military arms history - the Service use of the "Springfield" rifle and of the .30-'06 cartridge. Based upon 20 years of study by a former arms Research and Development Engineer. For arms collectors there are over 175 pages of text and exact scale drawings. Covered are 5 prototypes and 21 standard rifles, with additional variations as to sights, 'scopes, and attachments. Also covered are the Pederson Device, Garand firing pin and Woody set trigger. For cartridge collectors there are some 60 pages with drawings devoted to every significant standard .30-'03 and .30-'06 cartridge, to past Match ammunition, and to Cal. .22 ammunition in the Service. For shooters, a third of the book is devoted to adjustment and maintenance, rational approach to Sporter rifle design, modern methods of modifying the '03 for target use, and informed selection of hunting loads. Includes over 100 illustrations. Unquestionably the most complete and useful work ever produced on a specific subject, and merits the attention of all arms men. Small bookseller's sticker upon each endpaper else clean and unmarked. Price-clipped dust jacket bears average wear with some tears and is protected by clear plastic cover. Remains a nice copy of this magnificent work. Book
