1975300451Richmond VA 1975. This unique artifact is the companion to a 1975 history-oriented booze cruise on the James created by and for a group calling themselves the International Society of Hunters Bums and Poker-Players. 14" x 8 1/2" self-bound book titled "Points of Interest Along the Historic James for the Antony & Cleopatra's Barge Party #3 Spring Outing". Ten pages of 40 points of interest relating to early American history lead into 46 pages of photocopied maps charts and other historical resources. A hand-drawn map of the trip is copied on the back cover.~~Although we have no idea who belonged to this creatively named social group we know they were likely Virginia natives enthusiastic about their history and that they were also a fun-loving group. Of interest is Point of Interest #7 Sandy Beach Island where "R.R.R.R.R.R.R.R.R.C. members learned to swim an excellent location for skinny dipping." ~~Moderate tears to covers otherwise pretty good. unknown
