1922001110London: Punch 1922. 1st Edition 1st Printing. No Binding. Very Good/Not called for>. Coloured print featuring Tim Healey the First Governor- General of the Irish Free State. Healey is featured with the wings of an angel in flight strumming an Irish harp. The Governor- General of the Irish Free State was the official representative of the British Crown in Ireland . By convention the office was largely ceremonial . Nonetheless it was controversial as many Irish Nationalists regarded the existence of the office as offensive and a symbol of continued British involvement in Irish affairs. The role of Governor-General in the Irish Free State was removed by the Irish Government from the Irish Constitution in December 1936.

Punch unknown

"Edition believed to be limited to 2000 copies". Partridge settled at Sintaluta Saskatchewan 1883 as a homesteader and school teacher. He was a member of the Yorkton Rangers 1885. An early apostle of farmer co-operation movements he was one of the founders and first president of the Territorial Grain Growers' Association in 1901- later Grain Growers' Grain Co 1906 but later lost the leadership because of visionary and radical views. He urged public ownership of elevators and advocated the creation of a farmer-labour party to establish a `Cooperative Commonwealth' through which social justice could be achieved. The present title though without any literary merit reflects the visionary zeal and hatred for economic inequality that was an important factor in the founding of protest parties such as the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation CCF and the Social Credit Party".
