Color frontispiece black-and-white plates. Original two-toned cloth gilt-titled on front cover in black on the spine decorated endpapers. SCARCE FIRST EDITION one of only 500 privately-printed copies most of which were distributed to members of the club another issue from the same year was published in salmon wrappers of which there were 400 copies stated. The Saint Andrews Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson New York is the oldest golf club in the United States. John Reid of Dunfermline Scotland founded the club in 1888. It has existed in its current site since 1897 and features an 18-hole golf course designed by golf course architects William H. Tucker and Harry Tallmadge.
