A nice slice of London ephemera. The three items are in good condition lightly aged. They were clearly all sent together. ONE: ALS from Westley ‘W. Westley Hon. Sec.’ to unnamed recipient. 2pp 12mo. In answer to an application he is sending ‘one New Programme showing Waters &c’ pointing out that not all are ‘Trout Waters’ and that ‘about 30% of the Members only take part in competitions’. He explains that they have had good he mistakenly writes ‘few’ membership over the previous two years ‘but at the present time there are a few members’. TWO: Printed ‘C.L.P.S. / Programme 1935-36’. 10pp 16mo. Attractive little item in grey cloth covers with title printed in black on front. In good condition apart from rusty staples. Lists committee and officers fishing waters outings and meetings for season 1935-36 including sea outings regulations governing fresh water competitions prizes for 1935-6 perpetual challenge cups fish general notices. Très bel exemplaire.
Le livre contemporain et les Bibliophiles franco-suisses, 1961. In-folio en feuilles, chemise et étui. Tirage total de 200 exemplaires sur vélin blanc de Rives. Un des 170 exemplaires nominatifs réservés aux sociétaires. Dos de la chemise insolé. Le tirage du texte a été réalisé par Daragnès et le tirage des 20 lithographies par Mourlot. Excellent état. Hommage à l'Auvergne et à ses ruisseaux, un classique du livre de pêche illustré. Jules Louis Cavaillès est un peintre et lithographe français né à Carmaux le 20 juin 1901 et mort à Épineuil le 29 janvier 1977. Il appartient au mouvement des peintres de la réalité poétique.

Rara e pregiata, l'opera è davvero stuzzicante. Bellissime le illustrazioni, elegante veste legatoriale.
Volume in 8° piccolo, tela editoriale, piatto inquadrato da filetto in oro, medaglione centrale, titolo inquadrato al dorso, piccola figura in oro, sguardie, antiporta incisa in rame col ritratto di Walton protetto da velina, frontespizio con ampia vignetta silografica, XIX, 496 pp., carta di subscribers e colophon, una tavola col ritratto inciso in rame di Cotton che precede l'occhiello della seconda parte dell'opera a pagina 339, 203 illustrazioni silografiche nel testo. Magnifico esemplare d'un classico sulla pesca soprattutto al lancio, arricchito dalle biografie dei due estensori e da una serie di aggiornamenti sui tipi e luoghi deputati alla pesca. Splendida la parte iconografica, in ottimo stato (solo qualche lievissima menda alla legatura), assai poco comune edizione.
