Hij beschikt over een rijk archief aan foto?s en documenten en is dus uitstekend geplaatst om de definitieve geschiedenis van de automobielsport in Belgie te schrijven. Hij doet dit met de hulp van de FSA, dat zich ertoe verbond om de drie delen uit te geven in beide landstalen. Dit eerste deel begint met een inleiding die van 1896 de stichting van de Belgische Automobielclub, voorloper van de RACB - tot 1949 loopt en die bestaat uit geillustreerde sleutelmomenten, onderverdeeld in drie periodes. Vanaf 1950 wordt de jaarlijkse kalender (nationaal en internationaal) vollediger en zijn er specifieke hoofdstukken, gewijd aan een of andere wedstrijd of discipline. Vanaf 1960 zijn we pas goed vertrokken en wordt elk jaar geopend met een kalender van de wedstrijden (nationaal en internationaal) en de uitslagen ervan. Sommige van die wedstrijden worden in de daaropvolgende bladzijden ruimer besproken. Voor 1960 bijvoorbeeld zijn de ?nationale? wedstrijden: de Grote Prijs van Brussel, de Grote Prijs van Spa, de Grote Prijs van Belgie, Luik-Rome-Luik, de Tour de France Automobile en de Heuvelklim van Namen.
