Jahrgang des von 1883 bis 1918/19 aufgelegten offiziellen Jahrbuchs zum Eisenbahnwesen in der Habsburgermonarchie. – Der mehr als 1000 Seiten starke Almanach enthält u.a. einen detaillierten Schematismus, Ranglisten der Beamten, Diensteinteilungen und als Kernstück neben vielen anderen Verzeichnissen (z.B. auch der Fahrpreise und Bahnhofsrestaurants) eine alphabetische Liste der Stationen und Haltestellen. „Die Aufnahme authentischer Personaldaten macht die Jahrbücher zu einer wertvollen historischen Quelle. Jeder einzelne Jahrgang (...) gibt ein genaues Bild über die Organisation des (Staats-)Eisenbahndienstes.“ (Neuner) Ein Namenregister erschließt den außergewöhnlichen Quellgehalt des Almanachs zusätzlich. Zahlreiche, teils illustrierte und typografisch vielgestaltige Inserate geben schließlich darüber hinaus einen umfänglichen Einblick in die damals mit dem öffentlichen Verkehr verbundenen Wirtschaftszweige. – Besondere Beachtung verdient schließlich die großformatige (111:84 cm), von Karl Prohaska in Teschen als Chromolithografie gedruckte Übersichtskarte des gesamten Streckennetzes der Staatsbahnen und auch der Privatbahnen, welche speziell für den vorliegenden Almanach gefertigt und lose beigelegt wurde, weshalb sie oft fehlt. – Erhaltung: Der schmucke Einband von Hermann Scheibe geringfügig berieben und minimal fleckig, sonst sehr wohlerhalten. – Seltenheit: Mit Karte und in solch gutem Erhaltungszustand im Handel selten, gemäß JAP/APO kamen in den letzten rund 30 Jahren lediglich 4 Exemplare zur Aktion. – Literatur: Neuner I, 52f.
