Important and classic work by the famous climber Guido Rey, translated from the Italian, with many b/w photos. Loosely inserted the obituary notice of Guido Rey from a French newspaper (1935). Prima edizione in francese, brossura editoriale leggermente brunita ai margini, nel complesso un buon esemplare. Classico lavoro del famoso alpinista Guido Rey, tradotto in francese da Emile Gaillard, con numerose illustrazioni in b/n. Incluso un ritaglio da giornale francese con necrologio di Guido Rey (1935).

Flat signed by Joe Simpson to title page. No other marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with unmarked black cloth boards and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn with light creasing to upper and lower edges. 290pp. The intrepid mountaineer takes us through his adventures in Bolivia, the Alps, Colorado, Spain and finally the North Face of the Eiger. He tells us of his fears, exhilarations and despairs along with the painful loss of climbing friends. Tucked in is a further example of the signature from another book.
