The binding is signed on front free endpaper verso. This splendid copy was presented as a prize in the Grand Concours Annual of the Societe Nationale des Professeurs de Francais. It was awarded in December 1890 to J W Blagden of Dulwich College.The society's fine presentation bookplate, completed in MS and with blind-embossed stamp, is tipped to front paste-down.

Né et mort à Lyon, Antoine-François Delandine fut député à la Constituante puis bibliothécaire de l'Académie de Lyon. Arrêté en 1793 et emprisonné jusqu'après le 9 thermidor, il devint professeur de législation à l'Ecole centrale. Envoi autographe de l'auteur à "Monsieur de Ferrières", sans doute le marquis Charles-Elie de Ferrières, député de la noblesse aux Etats-Généraux, également membre de la Constituante. Très bon exemplaire.
