A charming highly detailed and finished pencil drawing signed and dated by the artist in the lower right corner. The drawing depicts a beautiful young woman with a large hat seated among baskets and at a table filled with fruits and flowers against a background of a busy medieval marketplace with buildings and turrets in the far background. Arnold was a skilled artist and illustrator who exhibited at the Royal College of Art and the Royal Society of Artists in the '20s and '30s. She was the original illustrator of at least one book A HANDFUL OF HAPPINESS London & New York 1927 and contributed to others. unknown books
