Yashima signed this book simply as "with best wishes- Author Taro Yashima followed by Japanese characters and his personal stamp which is in red on the half-title page. Also on the half-title page Yashima has included a color drawing of a fisherman in his artistic style of this book's illustrations and it is dated Aug. 1970 or 1973. On the blank page facing the half-title page the author has written: To Grace Joyce & Margaret. The dust jacket is not price clipped but does have numerous nicks along its edges. Additionally the dust jacket has a piece missing at the top edge of the spine of approximately .75" x .50" and at the bottom edge a piece is missing of about the same size. Pages are clean bright and tigh. Urashima the fisherman. Unpaginated. The inside front flap is clipped diagonally at the bottom right but none of the introduction is missing.
