Very Good Turkish Original watercolor Turkish medal design signed by Mesrur Izzet Durum. 15x12 cm (mounted on an exhibition cartoon, size: 20,5x17 cm). In Turkish. 1 p. Color ills. Ahmet Mesrur Izzet Durum was a Turkish artist, sculptor, modeler of coins and paper money, and sculptor of 'Turkish medal of liberty' [i.e. Istiklal madalyasi]), (1873-1952). He is one of the earliest Turkish sculptors. He was born in Bosnia. After a while, he left the School of Medicine, where he studied and went to the Department of "Sanayi-i Nefise" [i.e. Fine Arts] Sculpture department. He was one of the first students of the department.

[31], 143 p., 5 b/w unnumbered leaves of 173 numbered coins, ills. and tables. First edition of this first and very rare catalogue of Seljukite coins, by the father of modern Turkish numismatics. Ismail Galib was the son of Ibrahim Edhem Pasha and the pioneer numismatist in the Ottoman Empire, who is considered the father of modern numismatics in Turkey. "Ismail Galib, his brother and a pioneering numismatist in his own right studied coins from the Seljuks of Rum and published a catalog entitled 'Takvîm-i meskûkât-i Selçûkiyye'..." (Ottoman/Turkish Visions of the Nation, 1860-1950). The Seljuk Sultanate of Rum was a Turko-Persian Sunni Muslim ruled state, established over conquered Byzantine territories and peoples (Rûm) of Anatolia by the Seljuk Turks following their entry into Anatolia after the Battle of Manzikert (1071). The sultanate's monetary sphere of influence lasted long and coins of Seljuk mint, generally considered to be of reliable value, continued to be used throughout the 14th century, once again, in the Islamic world including by the Ottomans. En très bon état bien complet de sa carte en bon état - demi cuir - pour l'an 1842, contient 1) la désignation des relais de postes du royaume, et la fixation des distances en myriamètres et kolomètres; 2) l'indication des relais placés sur les routes étrangères, a partir des frontières de france; 3 ) tableau du service des paquebots de la méditérranée.
12154Tapuscrit de 36 pages in-4° volantes. Chaque page traite un sujet différent par ordre chronologique depuis l'origine de la poste. Chaque étape est illustrée à part d'un ou plusieurs dessins à l'encre de chine sur un feuillet de papier fort in-8 ou in-4 et 3 sont sur calque. Il manque les dessins numéros 20 (les ancêtres, les feux conventionnels de signalisation, le tam-tam), 22 ( cabinet noir), 32 et 33 (les marques et timbres à date historiés). Au total nous possédons 32 planches originales sur 36 dont 29 signées par Iselin et 1 monogrammée. Certains des dessins qui présentent plusieurs sujets ont été légendés par une autre main à l'encre bleue ou à la mine de plomb. Complet du texte, avec de très rares corrections, et 32 planches sur 36.
