Leading corners of board are bumped and chipped. Slightly dust-toned spine with significantly chipped spine ends. Spine is half-detached from front board and repaired with glue. Small ink stain on front board. A few small waterstains on upper edges of rear board inside back cover and BEP. Page block is age tanned and grubby. Front inner paper hinge torn and repaired with tape. Back inner paper hinge split. Frontispiece plate beginning to detach from page block with one and half inch-long tear at spine foot. Age spotting to FEP BEP and reverse of frontispiece plate. Gift-note is neatly penned on top of title page. Pages are slightly tanned with occasional grubby marks on leading edges. With the dedicated coaching of his new thespian friends and his Yugoslav trainer Dragon Stamp won a scholarship to the Webber Douglas Academy. He won his first professional role in "The Long and the Short and the Tall" where he met Michael Caine. They were soon sharing a mews flat and also the same suit for auditions which did not fit either of them. Then Stam's big break came when Peter Ustinov cast him in the title role of his film "Billy Budd". Terence Henry Stamp born 22 July 1938 is an English actor. After training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London he started his acting career in 1962. He has appeared in more than 60 films. His performance in the title role of Billy Budd his film debut earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor and a BAFTA nomination for Best Newcomer.
