La parte relativa ai ricami consta di 54 pagine. L'autore descrive diversi tipi di ricamo e diverse tecniche di produzione. Numerose illustrazioni con tipi di ricamo diversi e planches ripiegate che mostrano diversi macchinari. In buone condizioni Copertina assente. Legatura in buone condizioni. All'interno le pagine si presentano in ottime condizioni con rare fioriture. Interesting extract of 1889 circa from Enciclopedia delle arti e industrie edited by Utet about embrodery written by Enrico Fontana. The part relating embroidery is made up of 54 pages. The author describes different kind of embroidery and different techniques of production Different illustrations with embroidery and folded planches showing different machines. In good conditions. Cover is missing. Binding in good conditions. Inside pages are in very good conditions with occasional foxings.

2660S. L.: The Company 1915-1930. . Tall 8vo 9 x 5 inches; pp. 1 and 4 text; pp. 2/3 samples. Together with 6 skeins of "Embroidery Floss". Royal Society was a brand name of the company H. E. Verran owned by Henry Verran 1869-1930 which manufactured embroidery from 1915 to 1928. Harry Verran moved to New York around 1900 and went to work for Charles E. Bentley at BentleyÕs lace and embroidery factory on lower Broadway. Around 1912 he bought the company which then became ÒH. E. Verran Co. Art Needle Work.Ó In the late 1920s Verran built a new factory in Stamford Conn. and moved the company there. He changed the name to Royal Society which made mostly knitting and crocheting books but some quilt and pillow kits were produced in the late 20Õs and 30Õs. Also a series of kits for decorative laundry bags which looked like dolls were made. All their kits were packaged in tan envelopes with a colored picture of the finished product on the front.
