Very rare children's picture books of the 'Orbis pictus' type, showing various objects (books, a clock, a dovecot, a gibbet, a mouse trap, musical instruments, etc.), animals, buildings, activities (studying, drinking coffee, sewing, dancing, etc.), professions and many other subjects, all captioned underneath the image, while sets of four have been numbered from 1 through 90. - Wrappers worn; spine damaged and wrinkled, some pencil markings to title page with old ms. ownership of "Anna Hofmann" on reverse; some fingerstaining throughout.
