The printing of the Histoire et mémoires commenced in 1717 and ran through 1809 with the total number of volumes coming to 51; the present compilation offers especially noteworthy treatises from the beginning of the series through 1763.<br>Â Â Â Â The third volume includes two plates and one oversized folding plate reproducing two inscriptions and a frieze engraved by E.
