This copy signed by Betjeman twice once on the front free endpaper alongside a note of his correction and again at the base of his contribution on page 26 this leaf also exhibits a single minor correction in his hand. 8vo. viii 40pp. Paper-covered boards with a tanned and lightly chipped paper spine label. The boards rubbed at the corner tips and extremities and a little blemished in places. Some spotting throughout mostly confined to the margins and one text leaf detached and laid-in. Tiny dealer plate to the base of the front pastedown above which is a contemporary former owner name and date. A good copy most uncommon with Betjeman's signature. No dust wrapper almost certainly as issued. Betjeman contributes his poem 'The Song of a Cold Wind' which was originally printed anonymously in 'The Marlburian' a year earlier and here marks the poet's very first appearance in bookform. The fifth volume of this Public School Verse anthology series here featuring twenty-nine poems by seventeen authors. William Heinemann, London Hardcover
