A good solid copy in a later possibly institutional binding.<br /> <br /> A single volume edition the first edition of 1890 was produced in two volumes of the runaway bestseller detailing the life of the Ukraine born artist now best known for her painting "The Umbrella" but at the time a cause celebre due to the unfortunate combination of her luminous skill as a painter and her tragic early death in Paris at the age of 25.
