Charming monochrome frontispiece illustration to this analysis by Hungarian philologist/linguist/philosopher Szekely who claimed both to have translated an ancient Essene text he discovered at the Vatican in 1923 and to be descended from influential Tibetologist Sándor Csoma de Kőrös. An early proponent of whole foods Szekely founded the International Biogenic Society with Nobel Prize-winning novelist Romain Rolland and married plant-based diet activist Deborah Szekely who in the 1950s would open the Golden Door spa which attracted Hollywood celebrities including Natalie Wood Elizabeth Taylor and Barbra Streisand.</p><p>Side-stapled binding remains sound with a tight square spine. Former seller price to the first blank leaf but interior is else clean and unmarked. A one- by three-inch patch of heavy rubbing to the back cover where a label has been removed.
