EDITION ORIGINALE de la traduction en vers latins du Discours au Roi, des Satires, Epitres et de l'Art poétique. Michel Godeau le traducteur ( 1656, mort à Corbeil en 1736) enseignait la rhétorique au Collège de Grassins. Il fut aussi curé de St Come avant d'être exilé à Corbeil pour jansénisme. Il avait, paraît-il aussi traduit le Lutrin, mais ne l'a pas imprimé. Boileau a approuvé et apprécié cette version latine de ses poèmes au point de déclarer qu'elle rendait quelquefois mieux sa pensée. Dans le même recueil on trouve la traduction latine de 2 poèmes de l'abbé de Villiers ainsi qu'un petit poème sur Michel Godeau qui venait de mourir, par l'abbé de Lavarde.
