A nice copy. The privately printed autobiography of T. H. Mawson the British city planner landscape architect and garden designer. Mawson worked extensively in Europe designing gardens and parks across England and winning a competition to design the gardens at the Peace Palace of the Hague. He also contributed his designs to the United States including parts of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park and Canada. Mawson developed a plan inspired by the City Beautiful Movement for the City of Calgary that was never implemented. Mawson's philosophies were inspired in part by the City Beautiful movement which looked to design aesthetically beautiful cities that also promoted a civic harmony among its inhabitants.
