Le dessin est signé en bas à droite « R. Queneau ». . Raymond Queneau dessinateur et peintre Au lendemain de la guerre en quête d'une possible reconversion le père de Zazie laisse un temps la plume pour le pinceau. Il réalise entre 1946 et 1952 près de six cents gouaches et aquarelles. « Tels qu'il les pratique le dessin et la couleur deviennent un exercice de liberté allègre dynamique ludique gourmand. Il mélange les styles sans préoccupation esthétique ou théorique se promène dans une réalité insolite souvent cocasse parfois mélancolique. On dirait qu'il poursuit ses poèmes par le graphisme qu'il jongle avec les mots par le vocabulaire des formes » Dominique Charnay Queneau et la peinture Buchet & Chastel 2003. Plus de cent cinquante reproductions seront présentées dans cette large monographie et celle-ci n'y figure pas. Quelques autres gouaches mettent en scène artistes et musiciens mais dans des thèmes différents. Cette plaquette publiée anonymement a été tirée à 91 exemplaires tous justifiés à la main par Raymond Queneau. Exemplaire de Michel Gallimard avec cette justification : « n° 8 / H13 O78 pour M.G. » qui permet enfin de préciser le tirage exact de la plaquette dont il est rarement fait mention d'exemplaires de tête - sinon d'une vague indication de « quelques exemplaires » - les exemplaires ordinaires « O » sur alfa au nombre de 78 donc ne mentionnant jamais l'existence d'exemplaires sur hollande « H » - au nombre de 13. Sur le solide terreau des plus robustes calembours « Les Huns piquant des deux arrivèrent à Troyes quatre à quatre » on voit pousser ici et là de merveilleuses petites « fleurs bleues » percer de fulgurantes ironies : « Dieu : le non-être qui a le mieux réussi à faire parler de lui. » Ces « foutaises » furent reprises quasi intégralement dans Les Oeuvres complètes de Sally Mara en 1962 Sally plus intime 1962. Idéale provenance que celle de Michel Gallimard le fils de Robert qui n'est « que » le neveu de Gaston mais c'est son fils spirituel à qui il confie la responsabilité de la Pléiade sitôt la guerre terminée à la suite de Jean Paulhan. Raymond Queneau mènera à partir de 1949 pour le compte de l'Encyclopédie de la Pléiade la fameuse grande enquête « Pour une bibliothèque idéale » publiée dans la collection blanche en 1956.
