1960015526New York: A Berkley Medallion Book 1960. Soft cover. Fine. 16mo. Pictorial cover red edges 144pp. Light fading on wrappers and inner covers slight edge wear else fine. A wonderful example of 1940s-1970s pulp 'Sleeze' novels. This is regarded as a "powerful drama of Paris back streets . with quickening excitement" and an "inevitably bloody conclusion." Francis Carco 1866-1958 was a poet novelist and pulp writer who explores themes of bohemian living from his years in Paris in the early 20th century. Many sleeze pulps were considered 'underground' or banned in the United States for "immorality" or "indecent" which ultimately lead to the thrill of their pulp-ularity.
