The letter - addressed 'Dear Harriet' - relates of her translation of 'Child Jesus of Prague' by French poet Paul Claudel 1868-1955. The original typed manuscript of her translation is also included and is signed and inscribed in French by Claudel and dated 16 Janvier 1930. Further scans images etc. and additional bibliographical material available on request. 16 pages; Physical description: ii 16 p. ; 23 cm. Subjects: English poetry -- 19th century. Marguerite Mespoulet. Referenced by: Wise T. J. Ruskin I 2 although in her letter Tuell considers this not a Wise forgery. Very good paperback copy; edges slightly dust-dulled and nicked. Light tanning to pages as with age. SIGNED by Charles Eliot Norton with a donation of the item to Anne Tuell by Goodspeed referenced in the letter. The 45 color illustrations arew vibrant clean and fresh. A delight to peruse. Separate title-page for the suite of watercolors is entitled "Suite d'aquarelles de Féder pour illustrer les oeuvres de Arthur Rimbaud" and is further ellucidaated as "Tirage à 350 exemplaires dont 50 sur Japon avec suite."/ Copy no. 52" I believe the publication itself is not limited to a small number of copies since it has a number 4729 stamped under a statement of 25 copies on Japon. However the suite of watercolors is limited and is bound into the book and the original paper-binding spine is bound-in at the rear unused. The Preface is dated 1912 the book appear later than that by appx. 15-20 years but there is no publication date provided from either title-page.
