Cette dernière, une jeune femme indépendante et ambitieuse, devient une présence gênante dans la vie de Félicie, qui se sent rapidement reléguée au rang de "seconde" femme, d'où le titre du roman. Belle reliure, bel exemplaire de cette édition originale.
