This is a very good softcover copy with only light cover wear. Very clean inside and out. This exhibition and catalog was organized by Nuzzi. The exhibition traced the development of Ricci as a graphic designer, art director and art publisher. This copy has a brochure "FMR librerie. Listino 1991", tipped-in to the front endpaper. The brochure lists all his publications up to that point. Profusely illustrated in black & white and color. Large folio, 13" high X 10"wide. La figura dello stampatore-editore nasce nella seconda metà del Quattrocento, quando persone di grande cultura iniziarono a vedere nella stampa al torchio il mezzo per divulgare e rendere accessibile ad un numero più ampio di studiosi i testi più importanti, prima in latino e greco e poi in volgare. L'ultimo umanista del genere fu, nel Novecento, mio padre, Giovanni Mardersteig che ebbe la capacità di disegnare i propri caratteri (Griffo, Zeno e Dante), di scrivere testi fondamentali per la storia della tipografia, e di stamparli sul proprio torchio dell'Officina Bodoni, e quindi, di renderli accessibili al pubblico. [...] Il destino, poi, lo spinse verso Sud e lo portò prima a fondare l'Officina Bodoni a Montagnola di Lugano, poco lontano dalla casa di Hermann Hesse, e dopo cinque anni, nel 1927, all'età di 35 anni, a Verona, per stampare l'Opera Omnia di Gabriele D'Annunzio, e dove trovò il luogo dove stabilirsi definitivamente. In seguito la produzione dell'Officina Bodoni fu talmente ammirata, da essere imitata.

L'occhietto riporta il titolo originale, ''L'Institution des Enfans'', dell'opera del Muret apparsa a Parigi nel 1797 da cui il Neufchateau trasse la presente edizione, che offre la traduzione in tre lingue differenti (italiano, francese e tedesco) dei versi originali latini. Ogni pagina della presente rara edizione bodoniana comprende infatti un distico latino e le quartine nelle differenti lingue ciascuna in un carattere tipografico diverso (italico, romano e gotico) e in dimensioni differenti. Si tratta di 46 brevi componimenti sulla buona educazione cristiana e sociale che il Muret compose per suo nipote. Edizione a tiratura limitata ed una delle poche a ''utilizzare i caratteri tedeschi che non si trovano molte volte nelle edizioni Bodoniane'' (Brooks). Ottimo esemplare in barbe.. Brooks, 805. In 16 (cm 9 x 15,5), pp. (8) + 422 + (2 di indice) con ritratto dell'autore all'antiporta inciso all'acquaforte da Giovanni Antonio Zuliani su disegno di Francesco Novelli, segue frontespizio illustrato inciso. Legatura coeva in piena pelle con cornici oro a secco ai piatti, fregi oro al dorso e tassello, tagli dorati. Condizioni molto buone (lievissime spellature agli angoli dei piatti e leggera mancanza al margine superiore del dorso). Edizione, stampata dalla tipografia dei Padri Mechitaristi dell'Isola di San Lazzaro a Venezia, comprendente le preghiere del patriarca armeno Nersete Claiense stampate in 24 lingue differenti (edizione originale 1810 stampata in 8 lingue, due edizioni nel 1811 e 1815, edizione del 1818 in 16 lingue). Le lingue qui comprese sono: inglese, arabo, armeno, caldaico, francese, tedesco, greco, ebraico, irlandese, ispanico, olandese, ungherese, spagnolo, illirico, italiano, latino, persiano, polacco, russo, serbo, siriano, turco. Nel 1862 verra' pubblicata un'edizione con 33 lingue. Brunet IV, 859; Nersessian 510.

Nersete. Il testo comprende 24 preghiere al santo stampate in 24 lingue diverse, fra cui l'etiopico, l'armeno, l'ebraico, il gaelico, il russo, il cinese, lo svedese, il turco, il siriaco, con l'uso dei propri caratteri tipografici. Il monastero armeno fu votato a San Lazzaro nel 1717 da una congregazione di monaci seguaci di Mechitar. Bell' esemplare di questo graziosissimo saggio tipografico stampato nel monastero armeno sull'isola di san Lazzaro nella laguna di Venezia.. .
