That same year it would be "the first temple to carry the message of the Shrine to the land of the Midnight Sun" - undertaking a 5800-mile round-trip pilgrimage to Nome Alaska. Beginning in 1930 the Shrine held an ice carnival the 7th of which was advertised in the current program.
